Ornua, owners of the Kerrygold brand, had an innovation process that was managing a large pipeline of small incremental ideas - however, they were not generating sufficient large-scale opportunities necessary to achieve their innovation goals. 

We carried out a detailed assessment of their existing innovation process and developed a new streamlined system that filtered out smaller ideas early, and focussed more management time and budget was allocated to developing to a high standard the bigger opportunities.    

A more rigorous approach to launch commercialisation was built in to ensure stronger launch plans that could be applied more consistently across markets, including the use of volumization models, where sales volume targets were linked to distribution/ROS metrics, consumer metrics and marketing budgets.
